In 2018 we're seeing Alexa enabling voice control of products, from light switches and smoke alarms to microwaves and cars. We also seeing Voice emerging as a meaningful user interface with compelling applications in areas such as Healthcare, Tourism, Transport and Education. Meanwhile, screen devices such as the Echo Show and Spot make voice based interaction that much more compelling.

Led by Andrea Muttoni, Evangelist, Amazon Alexa EU, this hands-on Skill building masterclass is brought to you by Amazon Alexa and the Alexa Devs Dublin and is intended for developers & designers who are passionate about creating superior voice-driven applications using Amazon Alexa.

By mastering the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK), you'll learn how to build engaging voice experiences for Alexa, the service that powers millions of devices, including Amazon Echo, Echo Show, Dot & Spot.

* Some experience building for voice. Learn the basics by reading through the Alexa Voice Design Guide
* Map to Location - Irish Aviation Authority, Dublin City Centre.

Andrea Muttoni - Technical Evangelist, Amazon Alexa

Andrea is a Technical Evangelist for Amazon Alexa and we look forward to welcoming him to Dublin. In this role, Andrea is travelling the world to share stories, learnings and best practices for building voice-enabled experiences, aka Skills, with Alexa. Previously, Andrea worked on both sides of software development as a full stack developer and as a product manager. When not prototyping new Alexa Skill ideas or championing the needs of developers, he enjoys composing music and working on random projects with NodeJS + TypeScript + Webpack + React + Redux. Space is limited and a workshop place will be assigned on a first come first serve basis with priority given to developers and engineering members of the Alexa Devs Dublin, Alexa Devs Belfast, AWS User Groups Dublin, Cork and Belfast and to representatives of organisations and freelancers actively researching and/or working with voice technologies. We encourage early registration.
3. Organisers will call registrants on Friday 27th April between 10am and 2pm with the aim of confirming your attendance.
4. Before registering it is your responsibility to read the list of Pre-requisites above and to ensure you have access to the relevant resources at the beginning of the workshop.
5. The event format/agenda is subject to change.
6. This event may be photographed/filmed.
7. In no event will the AWS User Group ireland be liable for any lost data or content, lost profits or revenue, business interruption or damage to goodwill (in each case whether direct or indirect) or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss) by your attending this event.
